Now back in town for an annual business trip, Saville and his new workmates will cross paths against his former employer of 11 years on Wednesday night.
Saville left his old team as one of the finest employees in history. Known for his tremendous efficiency, versatility and freakish ability for multitasking, he also set work records for most all-time points and most days at the office, which was recently broken by Mat Campbell.
As a rookie, Sav shared a cubicle alongside the great Melvin Thomas in Wollongong; who was one of the most productive men in the business and the next year he joined the same rival firm in Sydney.
Thomas was subsequently booed whenever returned to his old stomping grounds in opposing colours, which prompted Saville to consider how he will be treated by the local supporters on his return to the region.
''The only thing I'm looking at is who wants to boo me and who wants to throw stuff at me,'' he said.
Saville's return in purple and gold adds extra spice to a long and heated arch rivalry with Sydney, although the veteran's move easily trumps the previous player losses to the Kings, such as rookies of year, Greg Hubbard and Justin Withers, Tim Morrissey, Terry Johnson (via Newcastle and Cairns), coach Alan Black and CJ Bruton (via Canberra).
''I'll probably go out and start the game and run out to the wrong end when the tip goes up or something like that. I've been doing it for a long time (in that building),'' he joked.
The Sydney Kings, who sit atop the ladder riding a six game winning streak, are facing a gritty Wollongong side which has overcome a slew of problems in recent weeks to defend their home court successfully in the last three games.
The Kings escaped with a win during an epic battle against the Melbourne Tigers on Sunday and Saville is all too aware of how difficult his job will be on Wednesday.
''Even after that kind of stuff has being going on, the last two games they've played have probably been the best basketball they've played,'' Saville said.
''They beat New Zealand and we went to overtime with New Zealand, obviously they're playing some really good basketball particularly at home.''
''They're playing like they've got nothing to lose, just going out there and playing well as a team.''
''From our point of view it's something we need to watch out for.''
